• Tape London: the Hanover Square members' club, with a world-class sound system, deep private booths and a music-industry-heavy crowd. Tables from £750.

Wednesday: The Hidden Gem Night

Wednesday is quieter, but two of the most theatrical venues run their full programmes:

• Cirque Le Soir: the circus-themed club on Ganton Street delivers the same performers and production on a Wednesday as on a Saturday, with a more intimate crowd. Tables from £800.

• Maddox Club: the restaurant-to-club transition is seamless: dinner upstairs, then down to the club without stepping outside. Thursday's crowd is polished and local. Tables from £1,000.

Two Mayfair clubs have changed their names: 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club) and Rumour (formerly Tabu). Both open on Wednesday and Thursday as well as the weekend: 99 Regent Street runs one of its two floors midweek, and Wednesday and Thursday are Rumour's more relaxed nights. Their opening nights and minimums under the new names are confirmed on enquiry, so message us with your date.

For most people, Thursday offers the ideal balance: a proper night out with real energy, but without the inflated prices and heaving crowds of Saturday.

What to Expect: Prices, Dress Code & Entry

Minimum spends on weeknights typically start at £1,000 per table, the same base as some weekend rates, but premium positions (stage-side, elevated booths) are significantly cheaper midweek. Dress code does not relax on weeknights. Every Mayfair venue enforces the same standard: smart shoes, tailored trousers, collared shirts for men; cocktail-appropriate outfits for women.
